How to find the WiFi Password

How to find the WiFi Password

This is a very simple but handy life hack. If you ever forget your WiFi password, you can try these steps to reveal the password. No more forgotten passwords!

This works only if you are already connected that WiFi network on a computer:

1. Click on the Start menu if you are on Windows
2. Type CMD
3. Click on Run as administrator on the right
4. Now type the following at the prompt and press Enter

Please replace the with the name of the WiFi network you are connected to. This will show you a lot of information on the screen, and if you look carefully, under Security Setting, the password would be listed beside Key Content.

There is another way, in case you don't want to get your hands dirty:

1. Go to Start > Settings > Network and Internet > Change adapter options
2. Click on the WiFi adapter that is connected to the network (will say the name in it)
3. Click on View status of this connection (in the menu bar right above)
4. Then go to Wireless Properties
5. Click on the Security tab
6. Click on Show Password checkbox

Pro-tip 1: If you are at a hotel that charges for WiFi (or for faster WiFi), get the password from the business center computer which is probably connected to the employee WiFi.

Pro-tip 2: There are hotels that only allow 30 mins of free WiFi every 24 hours on each device connected, to get around it simply change the Random Hardware Address setting in Windows 10 that lets you change your MAC address. In Windows 10, you would find this under Start > Settings > Network and Internet > WiFi > Random Hardware Addresses. You just need to toggled it every time you get kicked off from the WiFi.

Use this information wisely, and do not promote illegal activities. Also, don't forget to share this on your favorite social network.
